Project 1
Project 1 focused mostly on character design. Since I had already completed many of the elements for the assignment PDF during the exercises, I only needed to work on filling in the remaining parts.

I wanted to keep Artemis’s colour palette mainly focused on greens and blues. So my goal was to maintain the original vibe while subtly altering the overall feel through colour.

I approached the character expressions based on what I learned in Character Design. For Artemis, I wanted to convey a warm, slightly playful, yet calm and composed feeling.

FEEDBACK
Specific Feedback: Focus on colouring the design to enhance its visual appeal. Incorporate action poses and detailed facial expressions to bring the character to life and convey its personality.
General Feedback: Ensure the colours, actions, and facial expressions align with the overall design and theme, adding depth and energy to the character.
WEEK 7
Specific Feedback: Pay close attention to the anatomy in the poses. For Artemis, ensure the deer legs follow accurate anatomy and experiment in Photoshop by pasting references and adjusting colours with subtle highlights. For Dionysus, consider how the legs will move in the pose, practice holding a staff in action, and clearly distinguish between male and female characteristics. Simplify the lines on the legs to 3 or 5 at most. For Zagreus, adjust the pose to reflect the weight of the sword, incorporating more curves if necessary to convey its heaviness.
General Feedback: Work on drawing the environment to complement the characters and maintain harmony with the overall composition.
REFLECTION
Experience
Since the Exercise overlapped, the progress in Project 1 was similar. However, in Project 1, I focused more on the character, exploring different colour options, the character’s various aspects, and adding expressions to showcase the character’s personality when they speak or take certain actions.

Observations
Perhaps because I concentrated too much on the Exercises, I feel that Project 1 was somewhat neglected. It might have been because I once again failed at time management. Despite this, I always enjoyed the process of creating and drawing character elements and settings.

Findings
Game Art was an enjoyable course because it required me to use elements from my foundational courses. There were moments when I felt like I was revisiting concepts, which felt refreshing. However, I realized I needed to break the habit of focusing too much on just one subject. I can’t always work on just one project, and I regret that I got confused when managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
