Exercise & Assignments Brief
Project 2: Animated infographic
In this project, students had to make an animated infographic using the poster made in Project 1. The requirement was that it should be made with motion graphics of a maximum of 60 seconds of video (740 p) and 1280x720 pixels (H26/mp4) published on YouTube.
So I first divided the layers of the poster I made.

After that, I made a rough sketch of the video I was going to make using Photoshop.
Fig 1.2 Storyboard (WEEK 4 / 28.2.2024)
After making a template for the content and design of the animated infographic that I'm going to make, I started making the video using Adobe After Effects. Once I started making it, it took me a while to adjust because I forgot how to use Adobe After Effects. As I edited the layers, I tried to make it as complicated as possible without leaving the feeling of the infographic I had made before. This is because the poster I made can create a complex feeling.

After editing all the motion graphics, the next step was to add sound to the video. The sound I had in mind was the sound effect of a pencil or brush drawing something, and the effects are generally used in YouTube videos.

Fortunately, most of the sounds I was looking for were in Adobe video editing programs, so I could easily add music. At first, I tried to choose the main background music with the piano, but I thought it might be a little boring if it was with the video I made. So instead, I put slightly bright music, and for the rest, I put pencil-writing sound effects in the part where the drawing effect was added as planned, and separately put sound effects in the last highlight part and the recipe channel part.

REFLECTION
It was easy to build a rough image of the video I had to make, as I had to make a video using the drawing materials of the infographic used in the previous project. However, it was not easy to directly create the image and movement I was thinking of using Adobe After Effects. My understanding of the program was still not that high, so it took me time to get used to it at first. But when I tried to recall what I had learned the previous semester, it was relatively easy to use after that.
I thought I didn't like video editing, but it was more fun than I thought. I like to draw, but I think I like to create something. So this project was also more fun than I thought, although it was difficult to find the right music for the video and set the timing for the pictures to move.
